UP techie dies by suicide in Noida, alleges torture by wife and threats of false dowry case

A young field engineer from Uttar Pradesh died by suicide in a Noida hotel room, leaving behind a chilling video that accused his wife and in-laws of severe mental harassment. Mohit Kumar, a native of Auraiya, took his own life after alleging pressure to transfer his property and threats of false dowry cases.

In the heart-wrenching video, Mohit said, “By the time you get this video, I will be gone from this world. If there was a law for men, maybe I wouldn’t have taken this step.” He claimed his wife, Priya Yadav, along with her mother and brother, had been mentally torturing him ever since Priya got a government job in Bihar’s Samastipur.

He alleged that they demanded all his property be transferred to Priya and her family and threatened him with legal action if he refused. “My wife’s mother even forced the abortion of our child. She took all the jewellery and sarees. Now, they are pressuring me every day,” Mohit added in the video, visibly distressed.

Mohit ended his message with a heartbreaking appeal: “If I don’t get justice even after my death, then let my ashes be immersed in a drain. Mom and Dad, please forgive me. I couldn’t live up to your expectations.”

The incident took place at Jolly Hotel near Railway Station Road in Noida, where Mohit had checked into Room 105. When he didn’t come out, hotel staff informed the police. His body was found hanging inside. Authorities confirmed it as a case of suicide and conducted a forensic examination before handing over the body to his family.

Mohit’s brother, Taran Pratap, revealed that the couple had been in a seven-year-long relationship before getting married. “Everything changed after marriage. Priya separated Mohit from us and started blackmailing him. Her mother and brother were directly involved in threatening him with false cases. He couldn’t handle the pressure and ended his life,” Taran said.

The family cremated Mohit's body in their hometown of Auraiya. They are now demanding a thorough investigation and legal action against Priya Yadav and her family.
